Roaming & Carrier Services Manager – Bahrain Telecommunication Company

Job Objective

Contribute to achieve target revenue, profit and market retention targets, product development/enhancement, product management and profitability and customer satisfaction for Roaming & Carrier services.

Primary Responsibilities Strategic

  • Review and analyses changes in the carrier rates, conduct negotiations to seek preferred deals with existing carrier partners and update existing Hubbing/ Bilateral agreements in the system
  • Manage Partner/client relationships, explore new business opportunities, track performance against agreements and resolve technical issues/ concerns/ grievances etc.
  • Negotiate rates (e.g. interconnection, IP Transit etc.) with carrier partners
  • Perform traffic management for carrier services. Monitor ACD (Average all duration), NER (Network efficiency ratio), ASR(Average Answered Ratio), PDD (P-Dial Delay) and take appropriate action in case of variation
  • Initiate/leverage relationships and negotiate agreements on bilateral wholesale & hubbing voice services with partners;
  • Grow the wholesale voice margin in agreed accounts and to achieve sales target according to the plan
  • Ensure full adherence to pricing process, and proactively monitor inbound traffic to highlight any gaps against targets, streaming, irregular traffic patterns, and address accordingly.
  • Sell termination, international inbound and other wholesale services to International Carriers and Tier 1, 2 & 3 operators
  • Negotiate and reduce the cost of the international interconnection
  • Work closely with the Director Roaming & Carrier Services III to prepare the business plan in line with the strategy and based on assumptions/ forecasts/ analysis of traffic, rates, demand, forecast revenue, and ensure alignment with the overall organization strategy
  •  Track performance against the strategic initiatives and business plan Financial

  • Prepare product costing and product pricing reports for International Roaming & Carrier services

  • Prepare revenue forecasts and conduct gap analysis for Roaming & Carrier services Operational
  • Conduct analysis of existing trends, carrier contribution, OTT usage, new technologies, regulations, competition, customer behaviour etc. and use resulting insights to prepare strategy for Carrier and Roaming services
  • Understand business requirements, markets, trends, customer needs & technology trends and assess performance of existing carrier and roaming services to identify opportunities for Product development/enhancement of Carrier and roaming services. Develop business case for introducing new Carrier and roaming services
  •  Identify potential carrier/ roaming partners, analyse the impact of partnering with different operators and assess & manage the need for swapping
  • Design proposed commercials and SLAs for voice, roaming and SMS proposals with the partners
  • Negotiate rates (e.g. interconnection, IP Transit etc.) with carrier/ roaming partners
  • Prepare draft agreements with new carrier/ roaming partners and seek requisite approvals and sign-offs
  • Prepare a plan for launching the roaming/carrier service and coordinate with partners to schedule tests, SIM Card exchange and service launch
  • Perform route management for optimizing carrier services / roaming service
  • Perform SIM card management for roaming services. Conduct periodic audits and monitor/analyse SIM Card Usage
  • Perform traffic management for carrier services. Monitor ACD (Average all duration), NER (Network efficiency ratio), ASR(Average Answered Ratio), PDD (P-Dial Delay) and take appropriate action in case of variation
  • Perform billing for carrier / roaming services • Manage Partner/client relationships, explore new business opportunities, track performance against agreements and resolve technical issues/ concerns/ grievances etc.
  • Review and analyse changes in the carrier rates/ roaming discount rates, conduct negotiations to seek preferred deals with existing carrier/ roaming partners and update existing Hubbing/ Bilateral agreements and roaming discount deals in the system
  • Monitor key performance indicators and manage documentation of carrier / roaming agreements, documents, reports, etc
  • Develop and manage Roaming and International Carrier products to meet Business plan and revenue targets
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies for the products and services. Ensure that proposals comply with the regulatory obligations set by the TRA and achieve planned revenue and profitability
  • Coordinate with legal, finance and procurement, and secure requisite approvals for financing and offering various products and services People
  • Take ownership for attending the trainings as per the plan
  • Take ownership for completing PMS process, employee engagement surveys in time • Continuously share the knowledge and understanding of the telecom industry and business trends
